The Fall: Thumbs Up
http://thefallthemovie.com/
This movie has some really interesting background information. Tarsem (The Cell with J.Lo ring a bell?) shot the movie in over 18 locations around the world over the coarse of four years during other commercials and whatever else it was that he was filming. Sometimes it seemed to drag on but the movie was visually stunning and the little girl in it, Romanian actress Catinca Untaru, was incredible. Not many people seem to know about this film but if you ever get a chance to check it out, you should.
This Gave Me Nightmares
I really don't know how to comment on this. It's given me nightmares though. Otherwise, im speechless. Absolutely speechless.

Katy vs. Zoey
Different folks, different strokes
Different folks, different strokes; part 1:
I went to Philly this past weekend to see Umphrey's McGee play two shows. Awsomeness. Not the point of this entry though. We went to the marketplace in the middle of the city, right across from my friends apt on Arch. Its run by Amish. We went to the Dutch Breakfast place. It was so yummy! Cinnamon Apple French Toast (kinda minus the apple part.) It came out fresh and hot in about 2 minutes. I will never settle for an excuse of food taking more then 20 minutes to come out ever again! But I got to wondering about the Amish girl behind the counter.
1. Where does she park her horse and buggy in the city? (seriously!) Or do they have a community car? Or are Amish driving cars these days?
2. Why is it ok for them to come into the city and use all of modern day's advances when they could just do the community work thing to self sustain?
3. What is this girls thought process on the real world? How does she not want to rip her bonnett off every time shes in this place? Or is it the complete opposite and she despises the outside modern world and actually hates leaving her home?
I may sound ignorant, and I know I have some research ahead of me. (Thinking face)
Different folks, different strokes; part 2:
My friend Hannah always has great stories. Here is one...She was in Florida staying with someone in their aunt's home. The family was away on vacation. Apparently there was a husband, a wife, and two kids. Now, the wife has a live in girlfriend as well. I'd really like to pick the brain of this lovefest. How does the husband possibly stay in that situation? Even if he wants to live with his kids, you take that newfound lesbian to court. I can't imagine what these kids must be thinking. But I'd really like to know the logic behind that one.

Retirement Plans
When I am older, I want to be a granny DJ and an actress. One of those dirty mouthed cool grannies in those movies. ie: Grandma's Boy grandma, Wedding Singer lady

Being pretty in PR
I think I may be on to something here. I'll elaborate on this as I notice more but...
There is this idea that PR girls, in certain industries, should have a certain look. But I feel like more actual successful business is done when there are less "threats" between publicist and client. If a publicist is hot, there is "sexual tension" and I feel like if they are not as attractive, there is just less distractions. This may sound kinda harsh but this is why I think the less pretty people are more successful in the nightlife pr aspect. Girlfriends cant get as jealous, etc.

Taxi Cab Confessions
I play this game with my friend whos a personal assistant to some big shot theatre producer. The game goes as follows: I IM him or he IMs me and then we each state what exactly we are doing at the moment and the person doing the more bizarre thing wins! Hes got some good ones but generally, I win. I'm gunna try to keep up with these stories as best I can because i'll need to look back somehow to remember.
So starting with Tuesday night:
We arrive at the dog fashion show a little early which is fine. Its finally time for the red carpet and the twin models we rep are telling us that there were no dogs for them. I'm still not sure what happened, nor is it the point of the story. All I know is that within seconds, im running down Broadway in Times Square with another coworker also in 5 inch heels and a dress, hailing down a cab because we have to go back to the office to get the pups. The cab driver yelled at us the entire time that he wasn't staying and wouldn't allow dogs in the cab. So we hopped out at the office and Coworker ran inside and I hailed another cab. This cab driver was all about the situation. He and I decided that one day, when we meet up again, we will write a book. He said we were so "fucking high strung, man" and needed to "lower the hyper energy level or he will crash" and that "we should just fucking chill cuz he will get us there no worries". We did get there just in time for the red carpet and then our boss texted my coworker stating she and another coworker saved the day. I wonder when he will realize im not an intern and know my actual name.

An Event
Maybe you've read about the bitch fiasco that went down with LC recently. Maybe you havn't. I was there. I wont get specific cuz I don't need google alerts and such getting me in trouble (As a matter of fact, many of my posts are missing certain things or contain some sort of cryptic stuff in order to avoid dramz). It was fun and exciting regardless of what went down in the end. All I am wondering about the whole thing is, even if she didnt know that it was a fashion show, whats the big deal of just getting up and walking for like 10 seconds? It's not like you had to say anything, really do anything. Everyone has made their comments yet no one seemed to ask that question. What was the big deal? You were already there, obligated or not, just embrace the moment! Well here is her response - http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog&FriendID=114294997

One more thing...
...about LA.
I felt unsatisfied about my simple post (and just havn't had time) and wanted to talk about my trip a bit more. Like this awsome beach my friend Jonas took me to called El Matador. Its just a little north of Malibu. He kept saying how it was one of the coolest beaches he had ever been to and was dying to go back. I was thinking, a beach is a beach for the most part. But I was pleasantly surprised. Besides Sapphire Beach in St. Thomas, this is a close second in my book.
I also wanted to mention my obsession with The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. mmmmmm I spotted David Spade there stretching in the parking lot. Speaking of spottings, I also saw John Slattery in Whole Foods.
We hit up as many hot spots as we could too cuz my friends cousin was leaving after interning for 5 weeks. Koi, STK, Bar Marmont, Urth Cafe, Pink Taco (lobster enchiladas, yum!) Katsuya Brentwood (where other celeb spottings occured but not sure who...basketball players though for sure. By far the best meal I have had in a longgg time!), Happy Endings...haha. Attempted Villa, Hyde, Ketchup, Katsuya Hollywood, Roosevelt, but didnt know any of the secret passwords so we were access denied. No big deal, jetlag killed me.
Saw Wanted and Hancock. Went to the Farmers Market and were bombarded by the "So You Think You Can Dance" crowd that looked like My Super Sweet Sixteen gone bad. I went to the beach a ton which was perfect, burnt the crap out of my skin and am still peeling from it, took an overnight trip to Carlsbad to visit the newlyweds Lilly and Doug, almost went to a shooting range but thats still on the list of things to do.
4th of July was possibly the best one I have ever had. We went to Manhattan Beach to meet up with said friends brother and clients/friends. Me next to Deal or No Deal models is a funny sight to see. The scene on the beach was amazing. First of all, flashback from the 80's. I wish I had more photos of the rediculousness of the outfits. We walked the entire length of Mnahattan Beach into Hermosa Beach. Pretty much the same vibe. Beach houses and parties all along the walk. I want to go back next year without question. But there were no fireworks so we booked it to Santa Monica to watch a sick sunset but one of the worst firework displays. I was not too bummed about it though. Walking back to the car I think clocked us in at about 12 miles that day.
To finish things off, Aaron and I hiked the Hollywood Hill. Then we just walked around Rodeo Drive, drove through Robertson Blvd, some of 90210, and that was it. A perfectly great end to an almost perfect trip. Pretty much knocked everything off my list and more and like I said in an earlier post, I could totally move there. Just have to wait and see what happens!
Pictures and links to follow when I actually get around to editing this thing. :)

Deliciousness
Gridskipper has answered my prayers, again. I'm a huge fan of listing and mapping anything and everything, therefore I lover this site to death. Especially when they do things like this to make my life much better on slow days at work:
