Dancing Epiphany

I am getting ready to go to my moms for Rosh Hashana but on the TV in the background is the making of Janet Jackson's Tribute Video and something really caught my attention. I danced when I was younger and loved it. Always have a soft spot for performance/choreography/dancing.

After a rehearsal, Choreographer Wade Robson was just making an observation after they all saw the mini Michael's at rehearsal. He said something along the lines of:
"Michael influenced us so much and inspired us. And maybe in some way we inspired these kids and therefore Michael inspired them too. And now watching them, they just inspired us again. Its just really cool to see that happen."

He is right. So many times, an older dancer can influence/inspire a younger one but it is not often that the younger affects the older so much and on such a large scale as this performance. I guess that can also apply to other professions as well but I just thought it was a really cool observation and wanted to record it. :)

Also a side note or two, so much detail went into this routine. They didn't just audition any dancer. She asked the best of the best choreographers to participate, which was truly spectacular. Also details like the shoes. Christian Louboutin made them!

LA Trip

I made it back to Los Angeles this year thanks to David. Over there on work, he offered to bring me out there for the weekend because he knew how upset I was that I didnt make it back this summer and how much I love it out there. He has never been either so it was a fun little vacation. I had a great time showing him the theater, the hot spots, Venice (which he hated), Robertson (which he loved). One thing he got to show me was Huntington Beach which I LOVED. I wish I could surf. We ate some great food, and got some sun, because this traveling couple almost always gets sunburned, its a tradition.

Jay Z Blueprint 3

As I am watching Jay Z (who is apparently a comedian) on Letterman, David was telling me all about this song. I finally got to listen to it tonight. I like. Listen here:

Express Wardrobe Must Have

Express has two must have items in my opinion. The editor pant, and the tube dress. The pants are a piece of clothing every working woman should own. They are getting textured for the fall and they also do a lot of buy 1 get the second half off.

The second is the tube dress that not only I wore this weekend to a rehearsal dinner, but so did my friend Missy and a girl wore another variation of it to the wedding the next night. Cute!

Bridal Budget

One of my all time favorite bridal dress designers is Monique Lhuillier. Today I read on Stylelist.com that she is coming out with a more affordable line for us commonfolk called Bliss. I am very excited about this line and can't wait to see what will come out of it.

When celebrities tie the knot, they often turn to the beautifully crafted, romantic and whimsical gowns of designer Monique Lhuiller.

Lhuillier's wedding dresses have been chosen by some serious A-listers including Ali Landry, Kevin Costner's wife Christine Baumgartner, Britney Spears and Pink, just to name a few.

The designer even sketched a lace-detailed, mermaid style frock for Bella's wedding in the "The Twilight Saga."

Now, the husband-and-wife founded company is launching a more affordable bridal bridge collection, Bliss by Monique Lhuillier.

The line will offer dresses in the best lace, organza and silk, featuring both ML's signature embellishments and flair for fashion, but priced for the masses.

Fifteen of Lhuillier's trademark styles will be available this fall at Monique Lhuillier retailers worldwide.

Ranging from a reasonable $2,300 to $3,500, we predict, well, marital bliss!

Harper's Future

This is one of the greatest photos I have ever seen. My friend Harper, basically seeing her future right in front of her face. Love it!
