Ugh, again?

I'm starting to think she is just doing this on purpose (and for those of you who don't know, I am referring to her horrid fashion sense).  This is just her most recent disaster.  Don't believe me?  Don't trust my fashion sense?  Just google "Mischa Barton" and see for yourself.

Products I Like These Days

Skinny Girl Margaritas

New York Housewife Bethenny Frankel's concoction.  It's 100 calories for a 4oz serving.  Site: http://www.skinnygirlcocktails.com/home.php

Ohio City Pasta is my second most recent obsession of the month.  Particularly the lemon pepper flavor.  So fresh and delicious!

Sarah vs Lucy

Sarah and Lucy are a year apart.  Both on hit shows; Modern Family and Pretty Little Liars.

Wise Words from Deepak Chopra

Very often we fall into ruts in our lives; we maintain the same routines and act in the same manner predictably day after day.  We set our minds in a certain course of action, and simply proceed.  How can miracles happen if we march mindlessly, unthinking and unaware, through our lives?  Coincidences are like road flares, calling our attention to something important in our lives, glimpses of what goes on beyond everyday distractions.  We can choose to ignore those flares and hurry on, or we can pay attention to them and live out the miracle that is waiting for us.

Baffled By The Boss

What do you do when your boss doesn't like to be "bothered" but you have something that needs to be answered from them?  You can't physically bog them down so you email them but they don't respond to the email.  You text but they don't respond.  You're uncomfortable asking them in person more then four times.

Really if they don't answer, you can't answer, and sometimes or most times, that is a reflection on the company.  You'd think the boss would understand that.

So what is your effective way to get the message across to them?

MTV TJ Challenge 5

My Top Three MTV Moments:
1. Going to see TRL in Times Square.  I never actually made it into the studio but I remember on more then one occasion when our favorite guests would be in, groups of us would go and get a glimpse of the fun from those windows.  Seeing Carson wave from the window, watching the repeat later to see if we or our friends made it into TV.  Serious childhood memories.
2.  Every year in high school for the MTV Awards (movie and video), my friends and I would have viewing parties.  One year we dressed up like we were going to an awards show!
3. Watching Singled Out.  For some reason, I always remember watching that show after school with my little brother and babysitter.  It's just something  highly associate My MTV with.

Now, onto what I would ask a celeb in an interview...
Of coarse it depends on who you are speaking with.  But there are always the "go tos".  These are mine.
What is in your ipod right now?
If you could eat anything you want right now, what would it be?
Whats up? Whats next? Whatcha got in the works?
And if it's an musical artist, where have you played your favorite show and why?

Celeb Twitterers

MTV posted their 4th challenge for the TJs.

Challenge 4 | Follow Me
Open for 3 days ‐ from 12:00am (EST) July 15 2010 to 11:59pm (EST) July 17, 2010.
Overview: Our TJ needs to be courageous and unafraid. We want to see if they can be magnetic and tactful enough to maintain the attention of a busy celeb. This challenge will prove that the TJ candidates can be persuasive, charming, and persistent.
Personal: If you could only follow one person on Twitter, who would it be and why?
Social: Convince one or more celebrities to follow you, support your TJ candidacy, and retweet you. If you already have a celebrity follower, you must try for another!
Fun at the Apple StoreI decided to get behind fellow NYer and PRBC lover, Brittany James.  I like other candidates but @Bitty_Boop has won me over.  Check out her website and every possible way to support/contact her here: http://flavors.me/brittanyjames

If I were her, I'd hit up publicists I know already since many celeb twitter accounts are their pr peeps OR at least listen to their pr peeps.  She already got that idea which is awesome. Go Team Brittany!
Too bad I'm not competing, I think I would kick butt at this.  I'll just now focus those energies onto my candidate of choice.
Some very random celeb twitterers I'd want following me:
@ladygaga cuz that'd just be awesome.
@drakkardnoir @NickiMinaj @liltunechi @iamdiddy @rustyrockets @snoopdogg @apulsk @russellsimmons @reggie_bush @Ogochocinco @moby @adrienne_bailon @iambenlyons @redhourben...  I found this site with them all: http://www.celebritytweet.com/

What celeb would you want endorsing you?

PR Styles

The following blog post ran on the MTV Remote Control Blog tonight after the episode of The City aired.

VERY interesting...
Have my own thoughts but for unnamed reasons, I'd rather not comment at the moment.  But I really love this.

R.I.P. Steinbrenner and The Hills

Yankees powerhouse owner George Steinbrenner passed yesterday morning.  The Times article linked sums up his life pretty nicely.  Did you know he was from Cleveland?  Did you know the infamous character who played his voice in Seinfeld was Larry David?  That he was barred from baseball not once but twice? He also owned a stud farm in Florida?

Another death tonight, The Hills.  In what I thought was a superb ending of a "scripted reality show", the background drops and the characters come back and go live their lives.  BRILLIANT!  If you are really bored, watch earlier episodes and see how different the characters look now.

Marc vs Chris

A new season of Fantasy Factory showed tonight on MTV and I always say Drama Beats and my friend Marc look alike.  They have the same body type and mannerisms too.

I'm bored MTV

I didn't get the MTV TJ gig.  I'll spare a rant.  But since I am bored, I decided to do the challenges they post anyway!

Challenge 1 was to answer the question "Who Am I?" by expressing your identity through a digital medium.  If I wasn't lazy and this mattered, I'd make a scrapbook looking slideshow of pics of various things like me at Ohio State, in NYC and other places around the world like Israel, St. Martin & Paris. There'd be pics of me and various celebs, food, family and friends.  The second part of the challenge was to increase your followers.  Yea, well I guess I'll skip that one.  Moving on!

Challenge 2 - "Moved".  Basically it's about what inspires you and why.  In addition, create a hashtag (#) to be used in conversation about said inspiration.  I would have to decide between a couple of things, some which were covered by candidates.  #Autism or #CerebralPalsy has effected my family so maybe I'd make a flyer about that.  Or other things I am passionate about like #GayRights, #SummerFun, #food, #GreenThings #travel #health/yoga #Israel or #StopPuppyMills.   I think I could keep a conversation going on any of those topics which all inspire me.  Then it asks to you track and cover a current event for the remainder of the competition.  Some of the previous topics could cross into this or I could talk about #BPoilspill? #summerconcerts? #jobsearch? #celebgossip?

Challenge 3 - "Good Vibrations". Part 1 is asking what three musical moments have impacted your life the most.  Part 2 is to find and expose a local band.

Part 1, hard to narrow down to three.  Music plays a huge role in my life.:
1. My very first concert I ever went to was obviously going to be a major point in my life.  I was 13 and I went with a friend to see Blink-182.  We had these great seats at Jones Beach which is an open venue on the water.  Super excellent time and I was addicted to going to see bands after that.
2. Growing up, I loved Dave Matthews Band.  I mean, I am Jewish and went to sleep away camp, it makes sense.  My friends the day of a Dave Matthews concert in 1998 had an extra ticket.  I ran to a pay phone and begged my mom to go.  I had tried so hard to get a ticket to this show with no luck so when my friend offered it and my mom said I couldn't go I was devastated.  When I got home I cried and my mom came into my room and said "You only live once, go." It was at Giant Stadium, about to finish and about to pour.  The encore was #41 and literally as the rain started, Dave started playing and the harder he played, the harder it rained.  It was the craziest and still the best concert I have ever been to.
3.  Bonnaroo 2005.  Three day musical festival in Manchester, TN.  Drove across country with two friends and experienced three days of music, joy, sweat, heat, dance and fun.  I will never forget that.

Part 2 I found out needs to be an unsigned band so basically all I can think of without doing any research is my friend Jasper and his musical baby, See The World.  Check out their MySpace page.

Now I'll just wait for Challenge 4 MTV.  BRING. IT. ON.

Celeb Weddings Galore!

According to numerologists, 7/10/10 is a lucky day.  That date being on a Saturday and wedding season being in its prime, it's no surprise three major celebrity couples chose it for their weddings.

In Georgia, Carrie Underwood, 27, wed Mike Fisher, 30 - hockey player.  According to Hollywoodlife.com:
"Among the ceremony’s rumored attendees were American Idol judges Simon Cowell,Randy Jackson, and Paula Abdul as well as, according to some local residents, Tim McGraw and Garth Brooks. The incredibly tight security however and abundance of confidentiality agreements has made most information surrounding the ceremony very scarce."

Slightly north in a small city called New York and a small venue called Cipriani 42nd, a very public wedding between La La Vasquez and basketballer Carmelo Anthony tied the knot.

Guests like Kim Kardashian and Jonathan Cheban tweeted throughout the night.  Wedding planner extraordinaire Mindy Weiss was hired for the festivities which was a wise choice if I may say so myself.

Across the pond, The Office's John Krasinski and actress Emily Blunt were married close to George Clooney's Lake Como Estate in Italy.

I am sure pics will emerge shortly so stay tuned!  I can't wait to see them either!

JaBronie

FYI I have always for fun called Lebron James "Jabronie".

Last night we watched history as Lebron James in his free agency glory, chose to play for the Miami Heat next year on National TV.

Ah where to even begin.  This whole Lebron James thing is madness.  From the actual announcement to the hooplah involved.

From a PR perspective, it was great.  He created something with his opportunity and literally everyone and their moms, people who didn't even know what NBA stood for, were discussing where he would go.  I think it's safe to say that everyone knows the name Lebron James now.

From a sports fan perspective (and by no means do I know what I am truly talking about, as you will see in my comments), I understand his choice.  He played in Cleveland for 7 years and found no success.  What if you were told you had to eat the same flavor ice cream your whole life?  It's unrealistic.  The dude wants to win.  You can't blame him.  BUT...

From a Clevelander's point of view, it sucks a big one.  Realistically you cant expect a 25 year old basketball player to be held responsible for the success of a city but the truth is, he is a huge factor.  Restaurants he goes to skyrocket in sales.  Bars on game nights are affected.  There is a hero and it gives kids something and someone to look up to.

For him to go on national TV on a long distance location, call himself this great person and ball player, its hypocritical, disrespectful and insulting.  People are saying he had no responsibility to Clevelanders but Clevelanders did have a special bond with this person and it almost was like a relationship.  Sucks to be broken up with via National TV (cue the breakup CD circa 1999).

But all in all, I am excited to see what the future will bring.  Wouldn't it be great if the Cavs won in 2011?

Dior Couture Fall 2010

Couture to me is usually too absurd to think about wearing.  Not because of the price but because the design is usually just so out there.  But if that is going to be the case, I prefer a show and a show is what Dior did this time!  I think this stuff is just stunning!

Forever21 Fairy Tale

This is a sweet little fairy tale.  It's always nice to know that you were following and supporting someone or something pre-fame and to watch them grow.  Rumi Neely of fashiontoast, a blog I have been reading for quite some time, is one of the few lucky ones who make it to the big leagues.

Her blog contains fashion shots of her in various outfits she puts together.  Some items are designer, some are low budget, like Forever21.  Pretty brilliant mixes with some very lovely photography.  The new store just opened in Times Square and who did they pick for the billboard?  Her!

Tie-Dye Nails!

Never mind the hidden message she wrote on them while appearing in court, Lohan's nails are tie-dyed and I kinda love them!

NYC Holiday

Drove to NYC for the holiday weekend.  After a solid drive we came to a halt at the GW Bridge but we saw some fireworks in the distance so that was kinda cool.  Woke up and went to look at apartments on Wall Street.  They are throwing in some great deals down there!  The highlight of the trip happened the first day too.  We were chillin in Washington Square Park and we saw them filming Curb Your Enthusiasm.  Spotted Larry David, Wanda Sykes and Jeff Garlin.  The reason I am best friends with the person I am best friends with is because of Larry David.  She wrote for her fun fact during sorority rush "I love Larry David" and the girl talking to us asked her if that was her boyfriend.  We laughed and walked away and that was that.

Food, one of my favorite subjects, and generally what I base my plans around.  We went to Ed's Lobster Cart for lunch and it was the best lobster roll I have ever had (the most expensive also).  Also checked out the Standard Hotel Bier Garden.  $8 ticket gets you a beer, brat or pretzel.  The pretzels were the biggest things I have ever seen and came with a sweet and a spicy mustard sauce which I thoroughly enjoyed.  I would go back here again for sure.  Stumbled over to the Frying Pan after that and got some prime seating in the front of the boat and watched the sunset.  Also enjoyed brunch at Good where I had a Basil & Goat Cheese omelet on a sourdough slice of toast and the following day, eggs benedict at my fave, The Smith.

For the 4th I set up a little picnic spot for my friends in Central Park and spent the day there relaxing.  It's the one thing I wanted to do and I did it so I was thrilled.  Then some friends and I walked down to the west side to watch the world famous fireworks.  A guy even proposed to his lady friend in front of us during it (she said yes).

The only real problem I had was that I hate being a visitor in my own city.  I was spoiled having an apartment there.  It's stressful staying outside the city and having to worry about if you brought everything you need for the day.  By the end of the day I was so exhausted, I didn't even have the energy to go out at night which kinda stunk cuz I was hoping to.  Oh well, I'll be back!
