Emmy Highlight
Emmy Awards 2011 Fashion
There was a mermaid trend. There was a plunging neckline trend. Which did I like best? Well...
Glamour in Elisabeth Moss in Marchesa and a vintage dress on John Hamm's leading lady.
Also, something fun is seeing the dresses that were on the runway. Red Carpet Fashion Awards.com does this.

Would you marry someone for a million dollars? I would consider it depending on the circumstances. But if circumstances say you're already a millionaire and been married before, would you do it for showbiz? When is enough enough? I think she would. E! would be offering a hopeless romantic her dream wedding for the stunt. Sadly I think she can't say no to that (which also gets me going on the definition of marriage, but I wont get into that now). Also, I'm calling it now that it will be more then Khloe got and it will cause some friction even if it's not on camera, you can bet on that.

Sidenote: I dont know these people and I am always a firm believer in not judging anyone in general and especially if you don't know them but it's hard not to judge when they put it out there for you to judge (follow that? haha). I don't doubt Khloe and Lamar were in love and planned to marry anyway. Thrilled to see that from the outsider's perspective, it all seems like it is working out. Great for them! But Kim is different.

Why me MTV? I'll Tell Ya!

As I am sure you all know by now, I am campaigning for a spot in the MTV TJ search. This is my DREAM JOB and I am PSYCHED!
1. I am part of the MTV generation. Been watching it for years and don't plan on stopping any time soon.
2. Total music affectionado.
3. Pop culture is my specialty.
4. I am red carpet trained. Been to a few from my entertainment publicist days.
5. Know how to talk to celebrities/people in general. For some reason, conversation is just as easy with a billionaire movie star as it is for me with my neighbor. In fact, it has lead to many great times such as dancing with Snoop Dogg, a piggyback ride from Michael Strahan at his Superbowl Party and driving Lewis Black to the airport.
6. I never forget a face and treat everyone like a celeb.
7. I am somewhat tech savvy. Since the social media craze, people have been telling me I have a "talent" for it, whatever that means!
8. Love New York City, traveling and being at events.
9. Adjectives that describe me: creative, hard working, dedicated, motivated, adventurous, awkward, funny, witty, diverse, youthful (and apparently after this list, somewhat conceited).
10. Capable of being engaging and appropriate, even in 140 characters. Also very audience conscious.
12. I need a job, want this job, and read the entire contract and am 100% eligible!
So there it is in the smallest nutshell I could think of. Of coarse I'll be following up with a video as well, keep an eye out for that soon.
If this totally convinced you that I am the girl for the job, please follow me on twitter @beccameyers, facebook friend me - Becca Meyers, and post to all of your friends after you go vote for me, @beccameyers at http://tj.mtv.com/open-nomination/
Thanks!

MTV Movie Award Theory

Twilight stole the awards all night long. No surprise. I am NOT on the Twilight bandwagon but pretty much every girl age 12 - 60 is. So when it came time for the final award, Best Movie, I wanted it to be Hangover because it was clearly the best movie but was not so much surprised but disappointed in Twilight winning.
Why though? It's MTV! Think about it. Their average age viewer is what, 12-18? Twilight is the nobrainer here! Half the actual audience of MTV probably doesn't even understand most of the Hangover jokes and they certainly can't relate to them. The last thing on a 15 year olds mind is getting married and having a bachelor party.
BUT...
So many of us elders are still watching these ridiculous award shows, so its just bound to be disappointing to us. It really isn't that big of a deal but at the same time I feel like even though the network isn't necessarily aimed at our demographic, the award shows are.
Side Note on Twilight/Kristen Stewart: The girl is painful to watch! She needs to get over the awkward, anxiety, stage freight thing ASAP. It was cute at first or whatever but like, Twilight gave you your life dude! Don't look so freakin uncomfortable when someone is talking about you or your movie. Don't look like and act like its torture to walk up and receive yet ANOTHER award. Don't refuse to do interviews on the red carpet of the award show from the people who literally fill your pockets with your paychecks. Take some drugs or something, perk up, grow some balls and ROCK IT! At least as her publicist, that is what I would suggest!
That's just my piece of mind. That said, I thought the awards show in general was great this year. Aziz Ansari, who I was skeptical about, rocked. No surprise either that the bleeping was way off. So many F-Bombs! Also, I adore Sandra Bullock. She was given the Generation Award and gracefully accepted by saying, "Can we all just go back to normal now and continue to make fun of me? Say a prayer for the people in the Gulf." She really is a humble human being AND looked HOT. I loved her dress and Louboutins. My question here though is if she was getting the award because of the current circumstances? Like I just said, I think she's a great person but no one gave this much of a sympathy vote to Jennifer Aniston or anyone else I can think of in the cheating marriage situation. I don't argue the award wasn't deserved and don't wanna be a hater. I'm just curious.

Kell On Earth Episode 7
live blog
It sucks when people don't pay. All my readers and friends now how I feel about this. I'd only be repeating myself so I digress.
Sink or swim: How I find many offices to be in the industry.
Pick your brain issues! How many times have we heard this hot topic?
Another issue recently brought up in life as well as the show, is the distinguishing between personal life and work life. Part of the thing about loving your job is you don't care if you are always working. In your mind, you know it's work but you don't mind because you enjoy it or get off on it. Sure you like to complain about always working, but that doesn't mean you actually mean it. It definitely becomes a problem when your personal life falls apart due to it though. This is when you really have to evaluate your life and think about what you want. Sometimes, gorgeous wonderful boyfriends who don't do much professionally need more attention then you can give them and you just have to let go. I feel for Skinner. I respect her decision. Some people may not. It's a personal thing. Only you can determine when to draw the line. It can be done. It's just a matter of how much you want it to be.
With that said, some people are skeptics about Kelly getting all up in the personal lives of her staff but really, you spend most of your time with these people. It would be more awkward if they didn't have these personal talks in my opinion. When I was with my working crew, they were my best friends. Misery also loves company and since we were all "miserable" together, we only wanted to be with each other. Even doing non-working hours. Again, this plays into the whole, it's up to you thing I stated in the above paragraph. These small boutique places really are little families. I can assure you, when I had been in an office of 5 people for over a year and the boss who was absent walked by me outside the office standing with his maid an holding his dog no less, and he asked the maid who I was...not exactly a warm fuzzy feeling inside.
OMG I KNEW this girl they were interviewing looked familiar! She's the one from Whisper PR who stole all that jewelry! This was all going on while I was interviewing there.
I hate to pick on a 7 year old, but Ava seems kinda bratty. It's one thing to raise your child cool and smart and educated but it's another when they cross the line into pretentious. Then again, there's a TV camera in front of a girl who probably LOVES attention. Just sayin'.
Is Sanctuary T a client for Peoples Rev or just the closest spot for them to go to? If they aren't a client, they are getting great exposure on the show. I dig that place.
"To stay sane, you gotta go a little crazy!" I.E. Skinner in the spiked headband.
This Rick Ross thing just threw me for a loop. Kelly calls Rick Ross and starts free styling and I'm mystified that she just did that and then I see that its some random white dude. Kinda relieved!
Quotes by Kelly:
"We don't like reality, that's why we work in fashion!"
"We need to reevaluate our values and right now people do not want to buy a $2000 pair of pants. But unless people all go nude, they are going to need clothes."
I like that Kelly runs her company in an evolving state. She understands that nothing is static. Change is good.

Intuition
For example, one time I worked with this photographer at an event. Afterwards, we walked home in a rainstorm, parted ways after a laugh, and I. Was. Infatuated. I will admit, I may have stalked him a bit after but it faded fast. I do still try to keep up with him though because I realized it wasn't so much a crush on a guy, but I just had a feeling he was special.
When I became facebook friends with him, he had this photo album called Thug Life and its just his family hanging out pretending to be thuggish. It was one of the funniest things I had seen, because I just imagined my family sitting around doing stupid things like this (not that we did, it would just be funny if we did.) I thought I posted this in my blog a while ago but I cant find it:

Anywho, after my little crush died down, a couple months later he was in the news. He was doing a photo project and getting himself and his models arrested all over town for them dropping trou in public places like the subway and the MET. I was so proud of my little artist friend.
Now, after just seeing him in a split second screen shot in that atrocious reality show, High Society, according to guestofaguest.com, he will be the newest cast member on MTV's The City. Yet another step into the spotlight. Man can I spot em!
