My friend invited me to go see her cousin's documentary called Craigslist Joe a couple weeks ago. If you are looking for a good documentary to see, this is it. I enjoyed every second of it. This guy, Joe, attempts to survive solely on Craigslist and the kindness of strangers for exactly one month. It's not only about the destination, but the journey as well. Here is the trailer:

THIS IS WRONG
In my job search on Craigslist today I found this posting. It angers me so much I can not even explain to you. This is the reason why I don't have a job. There should be a law against this. It angers me more because there will always be people out there who will take these jobs and think its just paying their dues. THIS IS AN ASSISTANT POSITION NOT AN INTERNSHIP.
You cant eliminate assistant salaries by just calling it an internship. That should be a crime. I was really tempted to write to this person and tell them what they are doing is wrong but I wont. My form of lashing back will just have to be my blog post missing contact information. Proceed to read this and tell me if you think that this even makes sense to you.

THIS IS AN UNPAID INTERNSHIP with a small MERIT-BASED bonus/stipend at the end of the internship.
The intern will be working for a HIGH PROFILE, FAMOUS New Yorker. You will be involved in every aspect of her company- PR, marketing, event planning, administrative assistant tasks, scheduling, phone calls, helping with filming of media, charity work, etc. Everyday wll be different.
This is an ideal position for someone who is in college or grad school and wants a full-time summer job now and then part-time in the fall or someone who just graduated from school and is looking for an internship that has the possibility of turning into part-time or full-time employment. IDEALLY the person would be able to continue to work part-time during the school year, or possibly full-time in the fall. It could also work for someone who is looking for college credit.
We are looking for a FEMALE intern to work for a high profile NY company. This is a position for someone who is looking for very good experience and something to put on your resume. There will be a small merit-based stipend given at the end of the time period as long as the work is well done, but this is an UNPAID position. It is only good for someone who is looking for experience not money.
It should be a FEMALE who lives in NYC or in the NY area and who has easy access to the city at all times. She should be upbeat, energetic, and VERY well organized. She needs to be VERY proficient with Outlook and Word.
You MUST have a BLACKBERRY or Iphone that gets emails instantaneously.
This needs to be a person who can juggle many tasks at once, knows how to work for a person who has a lot going on and who can handle working with someone high profile.
Most days, you will be working from your home with constant interaction with the CEO of the company as well as the head adminstrative assistant as well as some days working from a home office that is located in midtown Manhattan.
There will be a few weekends where you will be required to be in the Hamptons and will be provided with housing for that time.
ONLY apply- if you are fine with an unpaid internship, if you like the idea of working from your home everyday (this is not a Fortune 500 company with an employee cafeteria),and can juggle lots of things and you are independent/self motivated.
Please send an email with a resume and any other information that you think would make us hire you. This is a position where you will be in the public eye sometimes, so appearance and the way you present yourself counts a lot.
Thank you

Missed Connections
The missed connections section in new york city on craigslist today seems a little more odd then usual. Not even entertaining, just weird. Lots of poetry such as:
But then, I wanted to do one as a joke for Colin Farrell. We locked eyes outside my office on E 67th. I know we had a moment! haha jk (although I did see him and stared at him awkwardly for minutes cuz I didnt realize it was him and I have a staring problem) but this person is def for reals...im glad others do celeb missed connections too.

GARY LAWSON OWES ME MONEY
I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. But sometimes, some people just suck.
I sold my football tickets to the Ohio State vs. Youngstown State game (season opener) for face value, to someone on Craigslist. I just didn't want the tickets to go to waste and I just wanted to make my money back. I didn't even ask him to pay me for the overnight shipping which was $20 and my lunch break.
He seemed to be sincere. At first he wanted to use Paypal, but thats just too advanced for me. We emailed back and forth the info and he called when he got the tickets to thank me and say the check was in the mail. A week later, no check. I emailed that I never got it and he called me back immediately. He was so thankful for the tickets and he sounded nervous that it didn't arrive and said he would immediately send another one and to resend my address so he 100% knows it. Fast forward 3 weeks now and I still never got it. I lost his phone number for a while, but emailed him a bunch. I found his phone number and he will not answer or call me back.
WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?!?! It really makes me upset and sick that people treat people like this. I just keep kicking myself for this.
Anyways, if anyone knows a GARY LAWSON who lives on Hawthorne Drive in Cincinnati Ohio, please tell him I want my money and this is only the first of many steps I will take to get it. This is messed up and I am not happy. I will post a phone number and address shortly as well if $130 does not come in my direction shortly.
Oh what a blog/internet can do for you.

Where I Will Move
See text below photo:

"Satanic 1 BR Mobile Home in 55+ Senior Park. Perfect place for mom. Covered Patio, add-on room, laundry, hardwood floors - not carpet. Walls drip blood & overpowering stench of death. Bay window in front for plenty of light, skylight in bath, built-ins. Enjoy nocturnal screams of the undead coming from the haunted golf coarse next door. Parking, private garden, and swimming pool/clubhouse. Evil, demented Gorgoroth thing lives in gaping black maw, under the trailer -- But it only comes out to suck the souls out of visiting children. Steps to grocery store, bus lines, and Weekend Farmers Market. Landlord not responsible for Thing in the tool shed."
