Rest In Peace Alexander McQueen

March 16, 1969 – February 11, 2010

The fashion world was rocked today, ironically on the first day of New York Fashion Week, to wake up to the news of one of their designers, Lee McQueen aka Alexander McQueen, had committed suicide.

The man was known to be in a dark place and under immense pressure, and many of the creative and genius are. Most recently his mother passed and he apparently was not taking it well. I am sure details will come to the surface. It is so sad to hear how someone could be in so much pain they can't take life anymore. He was an amazingly talented, wacky, beloved and inspiring person and his clients and friends, have nothing but incredible words and memories to say.

E! Online complied a nice photo list of previous people he has dressed, here.

Throughout the day, New Yorkers have been stopping by his storefront to pay their respects.

At this stage it is inappropriate to comment on this tragic news beyond saying that we are devastated and are sharing a sense of shock and grief with Lee's family.
